Fausto Podavini (Roma – Italy, 1973) \u00e8 fotografo documentarista e docente di fotografia.
\nNel 2010 entra a far parte del Collettivo Fotografico WPS.
\nSi distingue per i suoi reportage a medio-lungo termine, che gli consentono di approfondire i temi trattati. Particolarmente importanti due lavori che gli sono valsi due World Press Photo nel 2013 e nel 2018, rispettiva-mente \u201cMiRelLa\u201d e \u201cOmo Change\u201d. Una storia di Alzheimer\u00a0e di amore la prima, di una donna, moglie, madre, nonna verso il marito Luigi colpito dalla malattia, \u00a0il reportage sui conseguenti cambiamenti sociali ed ambientali, il secondo, causati dalla costruzione della alta diga sul fiume Omo.<\/p>\n

Il 27 dicembre a Sutri, alle ore 16.30, terr\u00e0 una Talk e visita guidata a\u00a0“In the Middle of Black Christianity\u201d, \u00a0un\u00a0estratto del long-project realizzato nel Tigrai, nel nord dell\u2019Etiopia, ed esposto a “Pistis-Suggestioni di Fede” fino al 18 gennaio.
\nPodavini ci dona una testimonianza vicina e rispettosa di come la fede, tema scelto per la prima edzione del Festival, attraversi ogni giorno la vita, come un filo che tiene insieme i gesti pi\u00f9 semplici e i momenti di festa degli individui.<\/p>\n

Come ricorda Carmine De Paola nel testo di accompagnamento della mostra “Le fotografie di Fausto Podavini ci portano in un luogo dove la fede \u00e8 un gesto quotidiano. Non siamo davanti a un racconto di viaggio: c\u2019\u00e8 un cammino condiviso.\u00a0Le persone avanzano tra rocce e polvere, salgono, aspettano, cantano. L\u2019autore sta accanto: non invade. Ascolta. Ed \u00e8 questo ascolto che, immagine dopo immagine, diventa la sostanza del lavoro.\u00a0Le fotografie custodiscono la distanza dovuta al sacro e, insieme, ci avvicinano ai gesti pi\u00f9 semplici”.<\/p>\n

Le fotografia si fa racconto della Chiesa Etiope Ortodossa Tewahedo, guida spirituale del popolo, e lo fa attraverso gesti, volti, paesaggi, riti. Diventa antropologica. La fotografia si prende spazi e tempi e come il Festival invita a fare in tutte le esposizioni, chiede rispetto, attesa. Non \u00e8 solo un invito a guardare, ma soprattutto ad accogliere. A lasciarci attraversare dalle immagini e dai loro racconti.\u00a0Siamo invitati a guardare con delicatezza. A cogliere tutte le sfaccettature, le pieghe di una umanit\u00e0 e di una religiosit\u00e0 vissuta, mostrata, restituita con rispetto.
\n“Certe verit\u00e0” – \u00a0continua Carmine De Paola – “non hanno bisogno di alzare la voce. Basta camminare accanto, guardare pi\u00f9 piano, e lasciarle accadere”.<\/p>\n

Fausto Podavini questo fa grazie al medium che gli \u00e8 pi\u00f9 congeniale.
\nDa tempo sta inoltre lavorando ad un altro progetto sempre legato alla fede; questa volta in Asia, in India, sulla cremazione in Varanasi.
\nNon mancher\u00e0 di parlarcene a Sutri.<\/p>\n
