A novembre sono stati al Paris Photo a Parigi.<br \/>\nJean-Marc Caimi e Valentina Piccinni, vivono a Roma. Si dedicano a storie che indagano il rapporto tra l&#8217;uomo e il territorio che abita, le relazioni in trasformazione e, come conseguenza, i mutamenti socio-politici ed ambientali. Ne risultano indagini stratificate, che coinvolgono i protagonisti e i fotografi stessi che vivono all&#8217;interno delle comunit\u00e0 che decidono di documentare, creando connessioni profonde. Il risultato si evidenzia dai loro lavori dalla narrazione autentica ed intima. Come nel settimo libro, andato esaurito, Fastidiosa, di cui vogliamo parlarvi.<\/p>\n<p>Fastidiosa \u00e8 un\u00a0progetto a lungo termine, durato sei anni. Il titolo originariamente sarebbe dovuto essere &#8220;This Land Is My Land&#8221;. Parte dalla descrizione del parassita degli alberi di ulivo nel Salento in Puglia, appunto la Xylella Fastidiosa, ma per andare oltre alla malattia devastatrice che porta alla morte di alberi secolari, e parlare invece degi sconvolgimenti dell&#8217;economia di un territorio che rischia con essa di veder scomparire un intero patrimonio culturale che da secoli si basa proprio sulla produzione dell&#8217;olio extravergine di oliva. This experiment, run by agronomist Giovanni Melcarne is part of a larger project to find solutions to the xylella pest. According to his theory, the xylella bacteria is blocking the xilematic vessels of the branches but on a lesser extent the main tree body. Trees die by suffocation in absence of green leaves. Farmers are waiting for government funding for a strategy to replant new resistant olive trees or for a change of use, which has so far not been allowed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jean-Marc Caimi e Valentina Piccini hanno realizzato &#8220;Fastidiosa&#8221; coinvolgendo gli agricoltori, gli agronomi che cercavano di contrastare l&#8217;avanzata della malattia, gli scienziati del Consiglio nazionale delle ricerche al lavoro per trovare una soluzione reale a limitare e bloccare la diffusione del parassita, anche ispezionando di notte: sono stati nei campi con i contadini, costretti a tagliare gli ulivi, assistendo allo sconvolgimento ambientale.<br \/>\n&#8220;Fastidiosa&#8221; utilizza, per parlare di questo dramma, anche fotografie d&#8217;archivio, materiale audio e video, gli scritti della popolazione salentina; alterna paesaggi in bianco nero in analogico, subito sviluppati in un frantoio a Gemini, dove Caimi e Piccinni erano ospitati, a\u00a0polaroid e microfotografie rigorose, utilizzate per immortalare campioni vegetali e cellule, immagini a colori digitali e scatti con iphone.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Volevamo che la materialit\u00e0 di ci\u00f2 che stavamo facendo fosse esattamente come la terra e il suolo dei contadini&#8230;.come un rituale, come (i contadini) facevano con la terra&#8221; J.M Caimi e V. Tante anime, tante pieghe diverse per raccontare di un affresco intimo, personale non filtrato. All the olive trees in his two hectares plot of land are dying. He&#8217;s growing vegetables for his own survival, since the income from the oil is going to stop.
