La solidarietà passa anche per la tavola: la campagna di donazioni che passa per l’amatricana ha oggi due nuovi partners, Slow Food e il Consolato d’Italia a New York.

A Future for Amatrice

In the world menu, a year of amatriciana for reconstruction

«All over the world, through this symbolic dish of the gastronomic history of Amatrice, we also hope to disseminate the values of solidarity and sharing of the farming culture from which it arises». Carlo Petrini, President of Terra Madre and Slow Food, starts a solidarity campaign to support the people affected by the earthquake and to think, starting from now, to their future.

We adhere to the spontaneous initiatives born in these hours in Italy, and relaunch by «calling into question the restaurateurs from around the world for an entire year. We hope in this way that the attention will not fade, and will endure beyond the emotional wave of the moment: we want to overcome the emergency and begin the reconstruction starting from today. Those who lived this tragedy should be able to regain normalcy as soon as possible; the funds allocated must be durable and the collection must be constant».

With Un futuro per Amatrice (#unfuturoperamatrice ) we ask restaurateurs from around the world to place in their menu the iconic dish of the devastated town and keep it for at least a year. And we ask customers to choose it. For each amatriciana consumed two Euros will be donated, one by the restaurant, one by the client. The funds will be paid directly to the City of Amatrice.

Meanwhile, more immediately, the invitation is to choose the food and agricultural products that come from the affected areas to support the local economy.

Slow Food’s international network has already started working to raise awareness and get as much adhesions as possible.
