Ha sviluppato un sistema capace di riattivare, ridefinire e caratterizzare il luogo senza stravolgerne le specificità, in grado di metterne in discussione la normale percezione: le panche si illuminano quando ci si siede sopra e diventano parte integrante di un sistema modulare scultoreo e architettonico e attivano nuove interazioni sociali. L’artista inserisce la tecnologia come elemento di sorpresa e humour. Le sue opere esistono e si attivano solo in relazione allo spettatore, suscitando contemporaneamente un rapporto di gioco e di disturbo, di dialogo e di fastidio. Sospendono le leggi di causa ed effetto e creano situazioni in cui gli oggetti sembrano prendere vita e reagire alla presenza dei passanti.

?? In Illuminated Benches, Hein has developed a system capable of reactivating, redefining and characterizing the place without distorting its function. The system casts doubt on the normal perception of the object: the benches light up when you sit on them and become an integral part of a modular sculptural and architectural system, while starting new social interactions. Hein uses technology as an element of surprise and humor. His showpieces exist and are activated only in relation to the public, provoking an amalgam of game and frustration, dialogue and annoyance. They interrupt the Law of Cause and Effect, and create situations in which objects seem to come to life and react to the presence of the passers-by.
