?? “Il lavoro è una grande pittura luminosa e l’energia, (…) in essa ne è parte determinante dominando la scena in alto, nel soffitto (…) le tensioni che si determinano (…) si attraggono e si respingono dinamicamente con una energia che il luogo chiuso d’azione contribuisce ad alimentare.” I titoli delle opere più recenti assumono l’intonazione lirica di un racconto con rimandi a luoghi, memorie, fantasie. La familiarità e la dimestichezza con i materiali e le tecniche di lavorazione cominciano a formarsi in gioventù nel laboratorio di marmista del padre. I materiali utilizzati sono inusuali e sono spesso oggetti ritrovati: travi di legno, a vetri, ferri, intelaiature di finestre, traversine di rotaie.

The titles of the most recent works take on the lyrical harmony of a story with references to places, memories and fantasies. Gastini’s familiarity and experience with materials and elaboration techniques began to take shape in his father’s marble workshop during his youth. The materials used are unusual and are often found objects: wooden beams, glass, fragments of iron, window frames, or railway sleepers.
